As I began to read this book,I found that it echoed so much of what the church is missing today, for so long I have perceived that messages we have heard has been lacking the heart of God. It always seems about doing the right thing or that we always are on the receiving end and never giving. I believe the book speaks of the heart of God and shows us how we as believers should be living. No fear,no condemnation, no performance. The down side of this message is that we have become so comfortable with the states quo, that being like Jesus requires us to give of ourselves despite the outcome. The message of this book is first class instruction manual that can guide you and me as believers to live a life of liberty as we we learn on how set people free from judgement and secrecy . As we create an environment for people to come for healing as they let go of what holds them back ,because they fear the opinion of man. Let's receive the opinion God ,surely this better than the opinion of man. God sets free, man creates bondage.Product details

This is a book that I would highly recommend for everyone to read! Everyone has been given a sphere of influence and can benefit from hearing what the heart of God really has to say about how to be a true leader. Loved this book and especially loved how I felt Jonathan's heart of love to transform our ideas of what freedom and love really look like through the eyes of Jesus. LOVED it!
Great book! All of Jonathan Welton's books are ground breaking and bring much revelation to the body of Christ. For far too long, the church has taught a very unbalanced view of authority and it has damaged so many people. It's time to return to what the bible actually says, rather than mistaken interpretations. Refreshingly simple and a delight to read.
The best part was probably debunking a lot of myths regarding spiritual authority, specific terms like ‘covering’, ‘honor’, ‘submission’ etc. This kind of stuff needs an understanding free of control ;)
This book will help change the direction of our leaders in churches who use control to lead our Christian family. As a Christian, I was in bondage at one point in my life at a Christian church. As I continued to search for new churches it seemed many followed the same pattern. As Dr Welton points out in the book, our society strives to lead with a hierarchy structure. Our churches are following this pathway which is not what Jesus would want us to do. Finally we have someone like Dr Welton and his book to take charge and lead us to a new direction of love and freedom. I recommend this book to all leaders and new Christians so they will not be led astray.

This book takes a straightforward yet piercing look at what biblical new covenant leadership looks like. I like this clear approach that tackles the abuse of power and reminds us that church is family, a healthy family. And it can be family in reality not just in theory. It reviews some of the stickier words that are used to control people and reminds us that we are called to mutual submission and love.
An excellent treatment on what it means to be a leader in the new covenant of Christianity. As always, in all his work Jonathan provides a fresh, new life changing, transforming teaching that all believers in Christ would benefit from reading. His work has absolutely transformed my life in so many ways. His heart is the heart of Christ. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!
I recommend this book for anyone who is influencing someone which is almost everyone. The concepts and ideas are all biblically based that revolve around how Jesus demonstrated His authority and leadership with His disciples, but never lorded it over them (pun not intended). This book is short and sweet and doesn't need to be long to grasp the concepts. Just about everyone should be able to understand and run with this, unless they grew up alone on a island somewhere without a family structure. Dr. Welton deals with the dangerous leadership in some churches that have taken scriptures way out of context and authoritarian, dictator type leadership has squelched the freedom of the Spirit. This is a good balance that is not too far to the other extreme and is an exact mirror of the heart of Jesus building His Kingdom on the Earth today.
